Indigenous Mentorship Facilitator – Part-Time (20 hrs/week)

About the role

The Indigenous Mentorship Facilitator will coordinate and deliver the Indigenous Youth Mentorship Project, providing culturally grounded group sessions, mentorship support and community collaboration for youth involved in the justice system.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly program activities and operations, including planning and facilitating weekly cultural, social and recreational group sessions.
• Recruit, train and support volunteer mentors, match them with youth, and monitor mentorship relationships.
• Build supportive relationships with participating youth, conduct regular check‑ins, and promote skill development and positive decision‑making.
• Complete youth intake, maintain accurate case notes and track participation, progress and outcomes in the agency’s data system.
• Collaborate with Elders to integrate Indigenous teachings and ensure cultural safety, and liaise with justice partners, schools and community organisations.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Community Development or a related field.
• At least one year of experience coordinating mentorship programmes, group facilitation and youth programming.
• Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities and knowledge of Indigenous traditions.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and recent criminal record and child‑intervention checks.
• Brain Story Certification is an asset.
