Server – Food and Beverage Services

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic server to join our restaurant team in Nelson. The role involves delivering high‑quality food and beverage service, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable dining experience while complying with provincial liquor regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve specialty food directly at customers' tables.
• Present bills and process payments by cash, credit, debit, or room charge.
• Describe menu items and daily specials, advising guests on selections.
• Enforce provincial liquor legislation and responsible service standards.
• Balance cash drawers, record sales, and maintain accurate financial logs.
• Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs promptly after service.
• Recommend and advise on wine selections, managing wine inventory and glassware.
• Take orders, relay them to kitchen and bar staff, and ensure timely delivery.
• Train new staff members and support colleagues with special‑needs guests.
• Provide attentive customer service throughout the dining experience.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• Food Safety Certificate and Serving It Right Certificate.
• Strong client focus with excellent oral communication.
• Flexibility, initiative, organization, reliability, and ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to handle up to 9 kg (20 lb) of weight and work in a fast‑paced environment.
