Senior QA Automation Engineer
Miratech · Toronto
Job description
About the role
Miratech is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to drive quality engineering practices on a next-generation Workforce Management (WFM) and Customer Experience (CX) platform. The engineer owns test automation across the full test pyramid, with a strong focus on component and integration testing of cloud-native applications and microservices, and works closely with software engineers, architects, product teams and domain experts.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and/or Cypress, JUnit and modern test automation practices.
- Build and execute automated test suites at every level: unit (JUnit), component, integration, contract, API, end-to-end and regression.
- Own component and integration testing of microservices, validating service behavior, data flows and API contracts in isolation and across boundaries (e.g. with Testcontainers, WireMock or Pact).
- Design and run performance and load tests to validate scalability, throughput and response times under peak contact-center volumes.
- Automate test scenarios for WFM functionality such as forecasting, schedule generation and scheduling rules and constraints.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, product managers and stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and quality standards.
- Analyze defects, identify root causes and drive quality improvements across the SDLC.
- Establish quality engineering standards, reusable automation assets and test strategies across product streams.
Required profile
- 6+ years of QA automation experience.
- Proven experience designing component and integration test suites for Java microservices (Spring Boot Test, Testcontainers, WireMock, REST Assured).
- Experience testing REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems, and WFM forecasting and scheduling engines or other complex rule-based business systems.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.
- Nice to have: experience with Contact Center, CX, CCaaS, routing or voice platforms, and understanding of telephony, IVR, call flows and agent routing.
Required skills
- Playwright and/or Cypress with TypeScript or JavaScript
- JUnit and contract testing (Pact, Spring Cloud Contract)
- Performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling or k6
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
What we offer
- Competitive pay and benefits including health insurance, language courses and a relocation program.
- Remote work flexibility.
- Professional development, certification programs, mentorship, internal mobility and internship opportunities.
- A multicultural, inclusive team with regular social events.
