Senior Project Manager – Digital Transformation

About the role

The Office of the CIO at UBC is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large‑scale digital transformation initiatives that span the university. This role will guide projects from concept through delivery, working closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex, enterprise‑level digital transformation projects from concept through implementation, coordinating cross‑functional teams.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive implementation plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocations, ensuring alignment with UBC’s strategic objectives.
• Oversee risk, action, issue and decision (RAID) logs, and conduct post‑implementation reviews to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead procurement activities in collaboration with UBC Procurement and Legal, preparing RFI/RFP documentation and evaluating vendor proposals.
• Collaborate with senior university leadership, solution architects, business analysts and operations teams to ensure consistent application of PMO methodologies.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline; a postgraduate degree may be required for specialized roles.
• Proven experience managing large, multi‑faceted IT projects within an enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage inter‑project dependencies.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and ability to apply UBC’s PMO standards.
