Job description
About the role
Bree is a consumer finance platform serving Canadians who live paycheck to paycheck, and it is looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape its next phase of product. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant ownership and impact, working end-to-end on core product surfaces across mobile and web, partnering closely with Product and Engineering.
Key responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design of major product initiatives, from problem framing and discovery through execution and launch.
- Partner with Engineers, CX and Business to turn ambiguous ideas into scoped, high-impact releases.
- Design intuitive, accessible mobile and web experiences focused on clarity, trust and usability.
- Use research, data and customer feedback to inform decisions and iterate on solutions.
- Create and evolve user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs ready to ship.
- Help mature the design system so it stays consistent while enabling fast iteration.
- Advocate for users, especially those navigating financial stress, by simplifying complexity and reducing friction.
- Take part in design critiques and team rituals to raise the bar for design quality.
Required profile
- 3+ years of experience designing and shipping consumer digital products in fast-paced environments.
- End-to-end product design experience spanning UX, interaction design and visual design.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and make good decisions with incomplete information.
- Experience working closely with engineers and understanding technical constraints and tradeoffs.
- Portfolio showing thoughtful problem-solving, real shipped work and impact.
Required skills
- Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma.
- Working knowledge of front-end development concepts (components, state, APIs).
- Nice to have: fintech or lending experience, mobile-first and React Native familiarity, design system experience, and comfort prototyping in code.
What we offer
- Competitive compensation for top performers.
- Health, dental and vision benefits.
- $1,500 setup bonus, $500/year learning and home-office stipend, and a $1,500 annual wellness stipend.
- Free lunch in the office daily and a $250/month stipend for WFH days.
- Fully remote in the winter, commuter benefits, parental leave, 20 annual PTO days plus unlimited sick days, and an annual retreat.
