About the role
The Senior Operations Manager will lead and optimise CPX’s transportation network across British Columbia. Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee dispatch, planning, driver management and customer execution to ensure operational excellence, cost control and reliable service.
Key responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end performance of FTL, LTL and cross‑dock operations across the network.
- Lead, mentor and hold accountable dispatch, planning and operations teams.
- Establish structure, processes and discipline for day‑to‑day execution.
- Drive continuous improvement in service quality, efficiency and cost control.
- Act as senior escalation point for key customer issues and service failures.
- Participate in RFP responses, pricing strategies and costing exercises.
- Liaise with Sales, Finance, Safety and IT to ensure cross‑functional alignment.
- Oversee driver communication, engagement and retention initiatives.
- Monitor KPIs such as service levels, cost per mile, utilisation and on‑time performance, implementing corrective actions when needed.
Required profile
- 8+ years of experience in transportation or logistics, with senior operational leadership.
- Proven track record managing high‑volume FTL/LTL operations.
- Strong commercial acumen, experience with pricing, RFPs and cost modelling.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage conflict and drive accountability.
- Extensive customer‑facing experience, including handling escalations.
