Senior Manager, Audit Quality Controls & Risk Management

About the role

KPMG’s Audit & Assurance practice is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of its quality management systems. The role sits within the Department of Professional Practice and works closely with firm‑wide leaders, the global quality management team and external inspectors to ensure the highest standards of audit quality and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain and review quality management systems under CSQM1, CSQM2, CAS 220 and QC 1000.
• Develop deep knowledge of firm‑wide processes, policies and controls, contributing to policies, guidelines, procedures and tools.
• Drive continuous improvement by challenging process design and simplifying controls while preserving effectiveness.
• Apply industry and technical expertise to assess risks, address internal process and control issues, and ensure compliance through reports, presentations and high‑quality deliverables.
• Promote and explain the importance of quality management to partners, senior leadership and teams across the firm.
• Utilise global quality management methodologies such as ISQM1 and PCAOB QC 1000 to assess risk, define responses and provide evidence of compliance.

• Strong technical expertise in audit quality management and related standards.
• Proven team‑leadership experience in a professional services environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and comfort developing effective solutions in a dynamic setting.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior leaders, global quality teams and external stakeholders.
• High level of integrity and commitment to delivering excellence.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CSQM1, CSQM2, CAS 220, QC 1000.
• Familiarity with ISQM1 and PCAOB QC 1000 methodologies.
• Experience with audit risk assessment and control design.
