Internal Auditor – Risk & Controls

About the role

Join BCI’s Internal Audit team in Victoria and work across both operations and investment functions. You will assess risk, strengthen controls, and deliver insights that impact one of Canada’s leading institutional investors.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to long‑term audit planning by monitoring industry trends and emerging risks.
• Develop deep knowledge of BCI’s business processes to design effective audit engagements.
• Plan, scope, and execute audits, documenting programs and evidence with professional skepticism.
• Identify control weaknesses, perform root‑cause analysis, and recommend pragmatic improvements.
• Manage multiple audit projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in internal audit, public accounting, consulting, banking, government or similar analytical environments.
• Progress toward or completion of a CPA, CIA, or CFA designation.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and communication skills.
• Interest in leveraging AI and emerging technologies for continuous improvement.

What we offer

• Annual base salary range of CAD $80,000 – $88,000.
