Senior HR Business Partner – Retail Operations (Alberta)

About the role

Starbucks is looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to support its Retail Operations in Alberta. In this strategic role you will act as a trusted advisor to leaders, shaping the partner (employee) experience and driving HR initiatives that align with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR expertise across all aspects of the partner experience, from talent acquisition to performance management.
• Lead implementation of HR programs, initiatives and priorities in the retail environment.
• Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to align talent strategies with day‑to‑day operations.
• Analyze partner‑related trends, identify opportunities, and deliver data‑driven insights to leaders.
• Co‑create area‑level talent priorities that enhance customer and partner experiences.
• Develop and maintain talent forecasts, succession plans, and development strategies.
• Collaborate with leaders on performance concerns, rewards, and inclusion & diversity objectives.
• Support external hiring needs in partnership with Talent Acquisition.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role, preferably in retail.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to influence senior leaders.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a data‑driven mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
