Senior Guidewire Developer - PolicyCenter

About the role

As part of Aviva's Software Engineering Group, you will join globally distributed teams to plan, design, develop, test and implement solutions. As a Senior Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer, you will design, configure and develop PolicyCenter solutions supporting Aviva's core policy lifecycle, and play a key role in the Guidewire Cloud transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Build architectural diagrams and design documents.
• Write programs, configure, package and deploy software, and perform peer code reviews.
• Collaborate with business partners to turn requirements into technical solutions and design integrations with external systems.
• Ensure standard methodologies are followed in code development, testing and deployment, and mentor team members.
• Manage Guidewire upgrades and patches, resolve complex technical issues, and monitor system performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of proven Guidewire PolicyCenter development experience.
• 5+ years coding RESTful APIs and 5+ years coding in multiple languages such as C#, Java and Python.
• Property & Casualty insurance domain knowledge.
• Must hold the Guidewire Associate certification and have hands-on Guidewire Cloud experience.

Required skills

• Expertise in GOSU, Guidewire Batch, Guidewire predefined plugins and Guidewire tools and accelerators.
• Deep knowledge of PolicyCenter: policy lifecycle, job configuration, out-of-sequence processing, product model configuration, business rules, UI configuration and Guidewire Cloud tools (TeamCity, Bitbucket, DataDog, Guidewire Home).
• RESTful API design, modern web application development, relational databases and SQL (MS SQL Server and Transact SQL preferred).
• Agile practices with Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira and Confluence.
