Senior Electrical Engineer – High Current Lab

About the role

Powertech Labs is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer (P.Eng.) to lead and expand its High Current Lab. This hands‑on position combines technical leadership with client interaction and business development in a fast‑paced testing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as subject‑matter expert for high‑current testing, overseeing test planning, setup design, execution and troubleshooting.
• Develop new test methods, custom rigs and enhancements to broaden lab capabilities.
• Ensure all work complies with Powertech’s quality, engineering and safety standards.
• Plan and manage multiple projects, handling scheduling, resource coordination and risk identification.
• Prepare technical proposals, define test scopes with clients and support pricing efforts.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia.
• At least 7 years of experience in high‑current testing or power‑systems environments.
• Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously while meeting quality and timeline expectations.
• Excellent communication skills and experience representing the company externally.
