Senior Director of Operations

About the role

Intersand is seeking a Senior Director of Operations to lead the strategic and day‑to‑day management of its production and distribution sites across Canada and the United States. This senior leader will work closely with plant managers and senior executives to drive operational excellence, safety, and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operations at multiple production plants and distribution centers, optimizing processes, resources, and costs.
• Develop and execute site‑specific operational strategies in partnership with plant managers and senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health‑and‑safety, and regulatory standards across all locations.
• Manage operational budgets, set performance targets, and monitor key metrics to improve efficiency.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between sites, plant managers, and corporate leadership.
• Identify and lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost productivity, reduce expenses, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of operations management experience, including multi‑site leadership.
• Proven ability to influence and communicate with cross‑functional teams.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and strategic decision‑making capabilities.
• Willingness to travel regularly to various sites.
• Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written).
