Senior Corporate Actuarial Advisor - Property and Casualty Insurance

About the role

iA Auto and Home is hiring a Senior Corporate Actuarial Advisor in Quebec. The role sits within an integrated team that also supports Prysm General Insurance and works closely with the Finance and Corporate Actuarial Vice-Presidency. It contributes to reserves, capital management, Financial Condition Testing (FCT), ORSA, reinsurance, financial projections and profitability analyses, giving a 360-degree view of corporate actuarial activities.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to core corporate actuarial functions: reserve valuation, the Appointed Actuary's Report, financial projections, financial statements, FCT, ORSA, capital analyses, reinsurance and product profitability assessments.
• Produce analyses and recommendations that support business decisions and strengthen the organization's financial position.
• Ensure the rigor and compliance of actuarial practices in line with recognized standards and industry best practices.
• Coordinate selected actuarial work, including preparing deliverables for governance bodies, and act as a resource for the team on complex issues.
• Drive improvements to processes, tools and ways of working, and contribute to performance indicators, process mapping and actuarial reporting.
• Support the Vice-Presidency and business units by providing analyses, reports and recommendations for strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science and an FCAS/FICA designation.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in property and casualty insurance.
• In-depth knowledge of actuarial standards, methodologies and best practices in property and casualty insurance.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and assess the impact of corporate strategy on actuarial processes.
• Advanced proficiency in French and intermediate English; occasional presentations to English-speaking partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of SAS or another statistical programming language, and Power BI, is an asset.
