Senior Contracts Officer

About the role

Lycopodium is seeking a Senior Contracts Officer to join its Mississauga office. Reporting to the Procurement and Contracts Manager, you will work independently to ensure contract activities meet the highest quality, ethical and business standards across complex engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update contract terms, conditions and structures in collaboration with the Project Manager and client.
• Ensure contract management activities comply with project plans, schedules and budgets, delivering high‑quality outcomes on time.
• Assist in, and when required lead, the resolution of claims, disputes or pending matters with contractors.
• Lead the contracts team from an operational perspective and represent the project team on all contract‑related issues.
• Provide specialist advice in designated areas of expertise and support the development of new procedures and standards.

Required profile

• Minimum of seven years’ experience in contracts with extensive knowledge of contract management, arbitration, construction/project law, claims, change orders, mediation and commercial close‑out.
• Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field; an undergraduate qualification in engineering, commerce or business is desirable.
• Proven experience preparing and negotiating complex technical contracts within EPC project life cycles, especially in mining, minerals, oil & gas, refinery or petrochemical industries.
• Strong understanding of contract management standards, model terms and conditions.
• Ability to deliver high‑quality results within budget and schedule constraints.

Required skills
