Senior Commissioning Project Manager

About the role

Veolia North America, a subsidiary of Veolia Group and the largest private water operator and technology provider in the United States, is hiring a Senior Commissioning Project Manager in Toronto. The role plans and performs commissioning of electrical systems, reviews project information, coordinates daily field activities, maintains project documentation and guides Project Engineers. It may act as team lead on small to medium projects and requires a high technical level of assessment and testing.

Key responsibilities

• Commission electrical distribution equipment and related controls, mainly in data centre environments, including high and medium voltage systems
• Review system designs for compliance with client facility goals and prepare commissioning plans and procedures
• Run commissioning from design through occupation, attend factory testing, and conduct functional testing
• Analyse test results with instrumentation, perform thermographic surveys and report on system performance
• Draft test procedures, coordinate field activities with the Project Manager, and draft commissioning documentation and schedules
• Lead commissioning meetings, train and guide Associate and Project Engineers, and respond to client inquiries
• Document all field procedures and comply with safety requirements

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of mission-critical project experience, or equivalent industry experience
• At least 7 years of commissioning experience with mission-critical projects
• Ability to travel nationwide 50-75% of the time, carry up to 50 lbs and wear PPE
• Must be immediately eligible to work in Canada; work permits are not sponsored

Required skills

• Experience in mission-critical facility commissioning
• Preferred: ASHRAE or BCxA commissioning guidelines and NETA test specifications
• Preferred: distributed control systems, BMS and EPMS, and test instrumentation
• Knowledge of generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS, battery systems, PLCs, ATS, STS, PDUs, busways, grounding and lighting control systems
