Senior Advisor, Taxation

About the role

As a Senior Advisor in Taxation, you will lead complex tax projects, advise internal and external partners, and ensure compliance with tax regulations while supporting business objectives. You will act as a subject‑matter expert, guiding strategic initiatives and representing Desjardins in high‑level discussions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead specialized development projects and initiatives that impact the organization.
• Advise clients and partners on planning, execution, and monitoring of strategic tax projects.
• Produce complex tax documents and ensure alignment with tax law.
• Develop, update, and maintain policies, standards, models, and programs for tax initiatives.
• Identify, analyze, and diagnose complex tax issues, providing recommendations to decision‑making bodies.
• Monitor industry trends and propose best‑practice improvements.
• Represent Desjardins in negotiations and agreements with external entities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum six years of relevant tax experience.
• Strong knowledge of French and advanced proficiency in English.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders and provide strategic advice.
