Senior Actuarial Analyst - Claims Analytics

About the role

Aviva Canada is looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join its Claims Analytics team within Finance. The role sits in a dynamic environment, working directly with the business and operations, and offers exposure across a broad spectrum of actuarial and data science disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Build, clean, transform and analyze operational claims data, linking it to financial results to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Deliver insights and recommendations to optimize claims operations and influence claims initiatives.
• Automate workflows in the data science platform to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Identify ways to pay claims indemnities accurately and reduce expense.
• Conduct competitive analysis by benchmarking performance against the industry.
• Collaborate with partners in Claims, Corporate Actuarial, Pricing, Data Science, Underwriting and Risk.

Required profile

• Degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or a related field.
• Actively pursuing actuarial exams, with a minimum of 3-5 completed.
• Strong team player who can also work independently, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Required skills

• Excellent work ethic and strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Knowledge of Python and SQL.
