About the role
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Private Enterprise team in Dartmouth. You will apply your technical expertise to deliver high-quality accounting and tax services while mentoring junior staff.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and assist with Review, Compilation, and White Paper engagements for private enterprise clients.
- Prepare T1, T2, T3, T4, and T5 tax returns with strong attention to detail.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and note disclosures under ASPE.
- Analyze financial information, accounting processes, and operating procedures, identifying issues and recommending improvements.
- Communicate proactively with clients to manage expectations and build strong relationships.
- Identify value-adding opportunities such as tax planning insights and process improvements.
- Support and mentor junior staff through coaching and on-the-job learning.
- Contribute to a positive team culture by participating in firm initiatives and knowledge sharing.
Required profile
- CPA designation required (or successful completion of the Common Final Examination, with designation in progress).
- 3+ years of experience in Assurance & Tax within a public practice environment.
- Strong experience preparing corporate, personal, and trust tax returns and various compilation and review engagements.
- Strong analytical skills, professional judgment, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to client service.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
