Senior Accountant

About the role

Waabi, a leader in Physical AI developing autonomous transportation solutions, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Toronto office. The role supports the finance team in managing payables, month‑end close, and audit preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing.
• Assist with accounts receivable and maintain vendor communications.
• Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, including calendar and task tracking.
• Prepare and post journal entries such as accruals, prepaid expenses, and reclassifications.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and support audit preparation.
• Collaborate with FP&A, HR, purchasing and other teams to support reporting and operational needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or high‑growth companies.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP fundamentals.
• Experience with month‑end close and account reconciliations.
• Excellent communication, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
• Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks or Ramp.
