Chief Executive Officer – Canadian Housing Acquisition Fund

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will lead the newly established Canadian Housing Acquisition Fund (CHAF), an independent non‑profit backed by the Canada Rental Protection Fund. Reporting to the Board, the CEO will provide strategic, operational and external leadership to scale the organization’s investment platform and deliver affordable‑housing outcomes across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the deployment and stewardship of substantial capital, establishing robust governance, accountability and risk‑management frameworks.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with government bodies, Indigenous communities, housing providers, investors, lenders and philanthropic partners.
• Oversee the creation, development and management of additional housing acquisition funds, mobilising public, private and impact‑investment capital.

Required profile

• Accomplished bilingual executive with senior leadership experience in complex organisations such as investment platforms, housing entities, financial institutions or public‑sector bodies.
• Proven track record of overseeing large‑scale capital deployment, lending programmes or investment portfolios.
• Strong governance, stakeholder‑engagement and people‑leadership capabilities, especially in start‑up or high‑growth environments.
