Senior Accountant

About the role

AltaML is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Finance Team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will ensure accurate financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and smooth financial operations for a fast‑growing applied AI company.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month‑end and year‑end closing, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review complex account reconciliations (AR, AP, cost of goods, intercompany, investments, work‑in‑progress, capital assets, bank and foreign‑exchange).
• Assist in developing and monitoring internal controls to protect company assets.
• Analyze financial data for accuracy, compliance with private‑enterprise standards and US GAAP for the US subsidiary.
• Support financial reporting, grant financing applications, audit coordination and variance analysis.
• Determine appropriate sales‑tax rates, handle government remittances and support future hedging opportunities.
