Senior Accountant – Finance & Reporting

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a well‑established organization in Mississauga on a six‑month contract. This hybrid role offers the chance to lead month‑end close activities, support financial reporting, and contribute to process improvements within a collaborative finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Support the monthly financial close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries.
• Analyze and allocate revenue and expense transactions across products, business units, and regions.
• Prepare and maintain detailed account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Extract, organize, and analyze financial data using advanced Excel techniques.
• Support budgeting and forecasting through financial models and reporting templates.
• Assist with tax‑related reporting and data compilation as required.
• Ensure accuracy of financial information uploaded into the ERP system.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and support to accounting and finance teams.

Required profile

• CPA designation (completed or in progress) preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a related finance function.
• Strong hands‑on experience with month‑end close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including large datasets, PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Experience with large ERP systems; exposure to SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is a strong asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to work onsite in Mississauga three days per week.
