Seasonal Retail Sales Associate – Campus Bookstore

About the role

Join Follett as a Seasonal Retail Sales Associate at the Trent University Bookstore in Peterborough. This short‑term position supports the campus community during peak periods, handling in‑store and online transactions while delivering friendly service.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and process cash, credit, or financial‑aid payments.
• Stock, organize, price merchandise and set up in‑store displays and signage.
• Pick, pack and process online and in‑store orders.
• Provide customer service during campus events such as graduations and sports games.
• Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming store environment.
• Assist with shipping, receiving and general store tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Professional, friendly and outgoing demeanor.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lb regularly and stand, walk, bend throughout the shift.
• Reliable, punctual and available for weekend shifts.
• At least 18 years old and eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Cash register operation.
• Basic computer literacy for point‑of‑sale and inventory tasks.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $17.60 CAD.
