Scraper Operator – Heavy Construction

About the role

Sureway Construction is seeking a reliable Scraper Operator to join its heavy‑construction team in Edmonton and surrounding areas. This full‑time, seasonal role involves operating a push‑pull & auger scraper to shape and contour construction sites according to grade specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Operate scraper controls to adjust blade and bowl height for precise terrain grading.
• Perform successive passes over the work surface, raising or lowering terrain to meet grade stakes or hand‑signal directions.
• Maintain proper gear selection and speed, ensuring safe operation under varying conditions.
• Use the cushion hitch correctly while operating the scraper.
• Interpret roadway plans, drawings, and grade markings to achieve required elevations.
• Promote and adhere to the company’s safety program on‑site.

Required profile

• Hard‑working, reliable, and flexible with schedule.
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions.
• Personal reliable vehicle and CSA‑approved steel‑toed boots with 6" ankle support.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment drug/alcohol testing and company orientations.

Required skills

• Scraper operation (push‑pull & auger) with at least one year of experience.
