Schools & Retreats Leadership - Maintenance

About the role

Muskoka Woods is a Christian youth development organization on the shores of Lake Rosseau, offering summer camp, school trips, group retreats and leadership development. Its Hospitality team provides excellent customer service, and the Maintenance Leadership role supports the behind-the-scenes work that keeps accommodations, meeting spaces, public areas and grounds in good shape. The role is part of the broader Leadership Team and contributes to staff ministry, staff care and community life.

Key responsibilities

• Day-to-day maintenance tasks such as mowing and trimming grass, sweeping, collecting garbage, moving firewood and equipment, and snow removal
• Assisting the full-time maintenance staff where needed
• Contributing to staff ministry initiatives and staff care, including planning staff events, leading small groups and helping plan Staff Development weeks
• Participating in the One to One mentoring program and building connections with staff
• Working in other areas including program, dishwashing, housekeeping, grounds keeping, snow removal and office coverage

Required profile

• Personal values matching the MW Core Values, including a passion for working with children and youth
• Team player who is attentive to detail, takes initiative and has a strong work ethic
• Previous leadership experience preferred
• Valid driver's licence required
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 30 lbs, work 7-9 hours at a time, and stoop, bend and crouch
• Must live on property in Rosseau, Ontario for the duration of the contract

What we offer

• $300 per week plus room and board
• 12-month contract, January 3 to June 20 or September 3, 2027, with the option to extend through the summer camp season
• Shared staff accommodation
