About the role

Muskoka Woods is a Christian youth development organization on Lake Rosseau offering summer camp, school trips, group retreats and leadership development. Its Hospitality team provides excellent customer service to guests, staff and visitors. The Kitchen Leadership role supports the full-time kitchen crew, serves food for staff and guests and helps lead and train seasonal staff. It is a 12-month contract carried into the summer camp season (June to August).

Key responsibilities

• Assist in leading and training seasonal staff.
• Prepare and cook food and serve guests.
• Help keep the kitchen and dining room clean.
• Assist with washing and putting away dishes.
• Contribute to staff ministry initiatives and staff care, such as planning staff events, leading small groups, and taking part in Staff Development weeks and the One to One mentoring program.
• Attend all staff meetings, including Cadence and Small Group.
• Work in other areas such as program, dishwashing, housekeeping, grounds keeping, snow removal and office coverage.

Required profile

• Personal values matching the organization's core values, including a passion for working with children and youth.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and move objects, work 7-9 hours at a time, and handle projects involving 10-30 lbs.
• Must live on property in Rosseau, Ontario for the duration of the contract.

What we offer

• $300 per week plus room and board.
• Shared staff accommodation.
• Choice of a 6-month placement (January to June) or a longer contract through the summer camp season.
