Rock Tools Technician – FIFO Mining Site

About the role

Sandvik Mining is looking for an entry‑level Rock Tools Technician to join its Northern Ontario FIFO mine site. The role supports rock‑tool contracts by ensuring proper usage, maintenance, and distribution of tools, providing a solid foundation for a career in the mining industry.

Key responsibilities

• Manage rock‑tools inventory, tracking new issues, discards and losses.
• Repair and maintain rock tools to defined specifications.
• Deliver rock‑tool products to customers on schedule.
• Utilise the Rock Tools Management System to monitor performance and generate reports.
• Troubleshoot tool issues and provide technical recommendations to supervisors and sales representatives.
• Complete accurate time, technical and failure reports.
• Perform daily/weekly stock counts and other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all safety policies, conduct risk assessments, and maintain a clean work area.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary school (high school).
• Interest in mining or construction equipment; prior exposure to Sandvik products is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively within an integrated team.
• Detail‑oriented with strong written and verbal communication.
• Flexible, self‑motivated and able to take initiative.

Required skills

• Rock Tools Management System usage.
• Inventory management for mining tools.
• Tool repair and maintenance techniques.
