About the role

Join Garcha Bros Meat Shop & Poultry as a Retail Butcher in Calgary. You will work in a cold, fast‑paced environment, preparing a wide range of meat, poultry and seafood products for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Trim, cut, and portion carcasses, sides, quarters and standard cuts of meat.
• Prepare special cuts and custom orders requested by customers.
• Grind meat, make specialty sausages, and slice cooked meats.
• Wrap, package, and label prepared products for sale.
• Remove bones, weigh products, and ensure accurate pricing.
• Clean and prepare fish, shellfish, and poultry parts.
• Maintain a clean, organized work station and adhere to food‑safety standards.
• Assist customers at the counter, providing product information and recommendations.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation (high school diploma) or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience working in a butcher shop or similar food‑retail environment.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail, good hand‑eye coordination, and the capacity to stand for extended periods.
• Dependable, team‑oriented, and able to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.

Required skills

• Proficiency with meat‑cutting tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of safe handling and storage practices for meat, poultry, and seafood.
