ReStore Customer Service and Warehouse Associate

About the role

The ReStore Customer Service & Warehouse Associate supports daily operations of Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia’s ReStore, providing friendly customer service, processing sales, handling donations, and maintaining a clean, organized store and warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors, answer questions, process sales transactions accurately using the POS system, and handle cash, credit, and debit payments.
• Receive, sort, inspect, and prepare donated goods for resale, including cleaning, pricing, labeling, and moving items between the warehouse and sales floor.
• Maintain organized checkout areas, sales floor, and warehouse; ensure merchandise is properly displayed and inventory records are up‑to‑date.
• Follow health, safety, and security procedures, operate pallet jacks and hand trucks safely, and report hazards or equipment issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous retail, cashier, customer service, or warehouse experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and basic math skills.
• Ability to work Tuesday‑Saturday, lift up to 50 lb, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive sorting tasks.

Required skills

• Experience with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures.
• Basic inventory control and record‑keeping abilities.
