Restoration and Healing Care Coordinator

About the role

Seabird Island is seeking a Restoration and Healing Care Coordinator to support community members navigating the justice system. The role focuses on culturally informed care coordination, advocacy, and case management to promote safety, healing, and equitable access to social supports.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and advocate for clients and families as they move through legal, court, and social service processes.
• Develop and monitor culturally appropriate care plans, linking clients to housing, mental health, employment, and restorative justice services.
• Attend court hearings, probation meetings, and other appointments to provide support and ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain confidential client records, track progress, and report to supervisors and case conferences.
• Identify and respond to client crises, applying sound judgment to develop safety strategies.
• Build and sustain partnerships with justice agencies, Indigenous leaders, and community service providers.
• Integrate Indigenous teachings and values into service planning and delivery.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in case management, client advocacy, or related social services.
• Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and community health perspectives.
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system and restorative justice practices.
• Excellent communication, active‑listening, and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a community‑focused environment.
