About the role
The University of British Columbia is seeking a full‑time Research Coordinator to support clinical and community‑based studies at the Oak Tree Clinic. The position focuses on research involving people living with HIV and/or Hepatitis C and reports directly to the Principal Investigator(s).
Key responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and monitor participant recruitment, including Indigenous participants.
- Supervise study visits, perform study‑related procedures, and conduct data pre‑processing.
- Prepare and submit IRB applications, amendments, and renewals.
- Manage contracts with third parties (e.g., Lifelabs) and oversee grant research funds using WorkDay.
- Administer participant honoraria and ensure timely distribution.
- Orient and supervise junior personnel and trainees (Co‑op, URA, GRA, MPH, CRA).
- Assist PIs with staff recruitment, including writing proposals and participating in interviews.
- Facilitate data linkage applications in collaboration with health authorities.
Required profile
- Degree in health sciences, biomedical research, or a related field.
- Experience coordinating clinical or community research studies.
- Familiarity with IRB processes and contract management.
- Strong organizational and budget management abilities.
- Experience supervising trainees and working with multidisciplinary teams.
