Research Associate – Inflammation Genomics

About the role

The Inflammation Genomics Laboratory and CONNECT platforms at the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Institute of Genomic Medicine are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate. Reporting to Professor David Langlais, you will support a multidisciplinary program that integrates inflammation genomics, clinical genomics, and cutting‑edge single‑cell and spatial omics technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and contribute to large‑scale collaborative genomics and clinical research projects.
• Design experimental workflows, select appropriate technologies, and define data‑generation and analysis strategies.
• Implement methodologies involving single‑cell genomics, spatial omics, flow cytometry, sequencing, and biobanking.
• Lead or support analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of findings through presentations, reports, manuscripts, and grant applications.
• Coordinate troubleshooting for sample preparation, sequencing, flow cytometry, quality control, and data analysis.
• Maintain and update standard operating procedures and research protocols.
• Oversee biobank organization, sample tracking, and documentation to ensure integrity and traceability.
• Provide technical expertise for flow cytometry, single‑cell genomics, sequencing, and CONNECT platform optimization.
• Manage instrument usage, quality control, workflow optimization, and related documentation.
• Organize research meetings, record decisions, and coordinate collaborative activities.

Required profile

• Highly motivated researcher with relevant experience in genomics or molecular biology.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational skills for managing complex projects and biobank resources.
