About the role

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia seeks a full‑time Research Associate to join its System‑on‑a‑Chip Research Group. The role focuses on designing analog and mixed‑signal circuits for electrical and silicon‑photonic communication systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct research in microelectronics, optical and wireless communications.
  • Model electronics and photonics components and perform circuit simulations.
  • Design and simulate integrated circuits for communication applications.
  • Carry out laboratory measurements and validate fabricated chips.
  • Mentor graduate students in modeling, simulation, tape‑out, and measurement activities.
  • Prepare documentation, publish in top‑tier venues, and contribute to grant proposals and reports.

Required profile

  • Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum three years of post‑doctoral training in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong publication record with multiple first‑author and co‑authored papers.
