Research Assistant/Technician 2 – Pan‑Canadian Genomics Project

About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a part‑time Research Assistant/Technician 2 to support the Pan‑Canadian initiative Linking Genomic, Environmental and Mental Health Data in Children and Youth (Pan‑GEM). This 0.75 FTE contract position (6 months, with possible extension) will assist a national study that integrates child and adolescent mental‑health data across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and organize project documents, obtain signatures for agreements, and maintain accurate project records.
• Prepare timely financial reports for the granting agency and track budget expenditures.
• Coordinate information sharing, meeting minutes, and documentation with national collaborators.
• Arrange biological sample shipments and support in‑person meetings.
• Assist with onboarding of new staff and ensure compliance with UBC policies and relevant regulations.

• Works under supervision of the Research Manager and site PI, with ability to operate independently when needed.
• Demonstrates ethical conduct, respects patient confidentiality, and adheres to research integrity standards.
