About the role
The Department of Natural Resource Sciences at McGill University seeks a Research Assistant to support laboratory work on zebrafish and trout embryos. The role involves hands‑on experimental work, sample preparation, and data handling within a collaborative research team.
Key responsibilities
- Manage zebrafish and trout embryos for exposure studies.
- Prepare glassware, tubes, and other laboratory equipment.
- Conduct exposure experiments and collect samples.
- Prepare and analyze samples for gene expression assays.
- Maintain accurate data records and assist with data management.
- Participate in regular group meetings.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
- Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
- Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written.
Required skills
- Embryo handling techniques for zebrafish and trout.
- Exposure study protocol execution.
- Sample preparation for molecular assays.
