About the role
The University of British Columbia is seeking a Research Assistant to support the Diabetes Transformation Project (DTP) within the Amed Laboratory, Department of Paediatrics. The role involves assisting the principal investigator, project manager, and research team in delivering multiple quality‑improvement and research initiatives aimed at improving pediatric diabetes care across British Columbia.
Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative and project support for DTP initiatives, including LearnDiabetes, ECHO Pediatric Diabetes, and the BC Pediatric Diabetes Registry.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with clinic staff, clinicians, patients, and families to facilitate participant recruitment and engagement.
- Assist with data collection, entry, and preliminary analysis for research and evaluation activities.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare reports, and contribute to the preparation of research documentation.
- Support the project manager in day‑to‑day project oversight and communication.
Required profile
- Post‑secondary education or relevant experience in health research, public health, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clinicians, families, and research staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Required skills
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Experience with data entry and basic data management.
