Research Assistant 2 – Applied Mental Health Research

About the role

The Department of Equity, Ethics and Policy within the School of Population and Global Health seeks a motivated Research Assistant 2 to support applied mental health research. The work focuses on populations facing social and environmental adversity, including those affected by armed conflict and climate change.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct applied mental health research projects using established protocols and ethical standards.
• Assist with qualitative and quantitative research activities: participant recruitment, informed consent, data collection, questionnaire development, and study implementation.
• Prepare research ethics submissions, study protocols, consent forms, and data collection instruments.
• Recommend and implement improvements to research methods, SOPs, and data management processes.
• Analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data and contribute to dissemination of findings.
• Write research reports, conference abstracts, scientific manuscripts, and presentations.
• Support grant applications and funding proposals.
• Provide technical guidance and training to student assistants and trainees.
• Perform administrative tasks related to research projects.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience supporting health and/or social science research.
