Remote Multi-Grade Teacher (K-3) in BC

About the role

This full‑time, continuing position is for a multi‑grade teacher (Kindergarten to Grade 3) in a geographically remote community of British Columbia, starting September 1, 2026. The school operates on a 4.5‑day week with extended days and Friday afternoons off.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction across a wide range of subjects for K‑3 students in a multi‑grade classroom.
• Collaborate with First Nations communities and respect local cultural protocols.
• Adapt teaching methods to diverse learner needs and remote‑location challenges.
• Maintain classroom safety and manage basic amenities and transportation requirements.
• Participate in mentorship and professional‑development programs offered by the district.

Required profile

• Interest in remote teaching and living surrounded by nature.
• Ability to work effectively with First Nations communities.
• Comfort with basic amenities and multi‑surface road travel.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada (no LMIA sponsorship).
• Valid BC Teaching Certification with the Teacher Regulation Branch.
• Experience teaching multi‑grade primary classes, including kindergarten.
• Prior experience or relevant life experience in geographically remote locations.
