Registered Nurse – Surgery – Pre‑Admission Clinic

About the role

The Surgery Pre‑Admission Clinic at Joseph Brant Hospital is seeking two Registered Nurses to join a job‑share arrangement. The role involves providing pre‑operative nursing care to patients scheduled for surgery, ensuring safe and efficient preparation for their procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑operative assessments and planning for surgical patients.
• Administer IV therapy, perform venepuncture, and manage medication administration.
• Interpret relevant diagnostic tests and document findings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding surgical procedures.

Required profile

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid BLS certification (Level C).
• Recent experience (within the last two years) in surgical nursing.
• Preferably recent experience in pre‑op planning.
• Strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
