Registered Nurse (RN) – Complex Care

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) will join the Complex Care unit, delivering compassionate, specialised care to patients with life‑altering conditions that affect both mental and physical function. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to support patients’ goals for transitional, palliative, or continuing care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide preventative, restorative, educational and supportive nursing care in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized care plans for complex patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, RPNs, HCAs and other professionals to coordinate interdisciplinary care.
• Lead and mentor unit team members, including RPNs and HCAs.
• Adapt to rotating 12‑hour day and night shifts across a 7‑day schedule.

Required profile

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Recent clinical experience in medical, surgical or geriatric nursing.
• Experience with ventilator‑dependent, bariatric or dialysis populations is preferred.
• Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) certification and wound‑management training are assets.
