Emerging Leader Faculty Position in Multiparametric Physiologic Metabolism

About the role

The University of British Columbia invites an outstanding early‑career scientist to join the Department of Cellular and Physiological Sciences as a Canada Impact+ Emerging Leader in Multiparametric Physiologic Metabolism. This tenure‑track faculty position will focus on basic and/or translational research in metabolism and will benefit from dedicated Canada Impact+ funding.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead an internationally recognized research program in metabolism.
• Secure and manage external research funding, including a six‑year Canada Impact+ award.
• Mentor postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and undergraduate researchers.
• Contribute to the department’s undergraduate and graduate curricula.
• Participate in departmental, faculty and university service activities.

Required profile

• PhD, MD/PhD, MD or equivalent in biological or biomedical sciences.
• Early‑career researcher with a developing record of research excellence.
• Strong commitment to high‑quality teaching and mentorship.
• Demonstrated respect for equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Eligibility for a full‑time, tenure‑stream Assistant Professor appointment at UBC.
