Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Temporary Part-Time)

About the role

The Hospital is seeking a temporary part‑time Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care in the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery and Recovery Room. The role involves rotating across these areas and supporting the surgical team while adhering to Ontario nursing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery and Post‑Anaesthetic Care Unit.
• Perform both scrub and circulating duties, and assist with patient preparation and recovery.
• Respond to on‑call requests and stand‑by rotations as required.
• Maintain documentation and follow hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental education and evidence‑based practice initiatives.

Required profile

• Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• 1‑3 years experience in an operating‑room setting.
• Post‑graduate perioperative nursing course (required).
• Current BCLS certification.
• Current ACLS and PALS certification or willingness to obtain.
• Willingness to obtain a Post‑Anaesthetic Care nursing certificate.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team and assume charge‑nurse responsibilities.
• Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
• Successful reference checks, police vulnerable sector check and pre‑employment health assessment.
