Registered Nurse – Medicine (Casual)

About the role

We are seeking two casual Registered Nurses to join the Medicine department at Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus. In this fast‑paced unit you will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical patients, including palliative care, and support the charge nurse in daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care across all three shifts, including weekends.
• Administer IV medications, start IV lines, and manage central venous access devices.
• Perform cardiac monitoring, defibrillation, and cardiac pacing as needed.
• Conduct assessments, document care plans, and ensure safe discharge planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to maintain high standards of patient safety.

Required profile

• Current College of Nurses certificate of competence.
• Valid BCLS and ACLS certifications (or commitment to obtain).
• Experience in medical nursing with emphasis on palliative care.
• Ability to work all shifts and weekends.
• Clear police vulnerable sector check and satisfactory reference checks.
