Registered Nurse – Interventional Radiology (Diagnostic Imaging)

About the role
Michael Garron Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Diagnostic Imaging department, focusing on Interventional Radiology. The RN will deliver comprehensive nursing care in line with Ontario standards and support a high‑acuity, multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient needs according to nursing standards.
- Provide direct nursing care during CT and ultrasound‑guided procedures.
- Assist with PICC line insertions and other special interventional procedures.
- Maintain sterile and aseptic technique throughout all interventions.
- Monitor cardiac status, interpret ECGs, manage dysrhythmias and administer cardiac medications.
- Support patients receiving procedural sedation, including cardioversion and TEE.
Required profile
- Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and a valid Certificate of Competence.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum two years of critical‑care nursing experience (five years preferred).
- Recent experience (within two years) in Diagnostic Imaging, performing CT/Ultrasound‑guided procedures.
- Completed courses related to Diagnostic Imaging procedures and radiation safety.
Required skills
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – preferred.
- Cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation.
- PICC line assistance.
- Sterile, aseptic and isolation techniques.
- Radiation safety knowledge.
- Pulse oximetry monitoring.
- IV therapy certification and advanced airway management.
