Registered Nurse – Critical Care & Emergency

About the role

The Registered Nurse will deliver safe, effective, and ethical nursing care within a fast‑paced hospital environment. Reporting to the Program Manager, the RN will monitor patient conditions, develop care plans, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously assess and document patient status, collecting vital data and maintaining accurate records.
• Identify nursing care problems, create and evaluate patient care and discharge plans.
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including medication administration and wound care.
• Guide and assist other health‑care team members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Investigate, document, and communicate any patient‑care incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Minimum 2 years (3,000 hours) recent critical‑care experience (ICU, CCU, Cath Lab) or PACU experience, plus 2 years emergency‑room experience.
• Availability for all shifts, on‑call/standby duties.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Good interpersonal skills and professional attitude.

Required skills

• 12‑lead EKG interpretation
• Defibrillation
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• BCLS certification (required)
• ACLS and PALS certification (preferred)
• EKG Interpretation Certificate or successful completion of arrhythmia interpretation exams
