Regional Technical Category Manager

About the role

Veolia's Water Tech Business is creating a new Regional Technical Category Manager role for its Projects Business Line. The position leads strategic procurement and category management for specialized, high-value custom turnkey, mechanical/electrical, fabrication and flow management activities across North American projects, executing North American procurement strategy with tailored regional approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage preferred supplier networks and long-term partnerships, including framework agreements and multi-million dollar cost reduction initiatives
• Lead proposal development, tendering and cost analysis, including detailed cost models and total cost of ownership analyses
• Negotiate pricing, terms, conditions, insurance, bonding and risk allocation, and define scope of work and interfaces
• Develop risk management strategies, insurance requirements and mitigation measures such as performance bonds and liquidated damages
• Manage post-award performance, KPI monitoring, corrective actions, escalations, change orders and on-time delivery
• Work with project execution, legal, insurance, contract management, engineering and tendering teams, and with safety, quality and compliance functions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business Management
• 5+ years in custom turnkey, mechanical/electrical, fabrication or flow management procurement, contractor management or EPC construction execution
• Proven procurement, sourcing, contract management or project management experience in an EPC setting
• Knowledge of specialized contract terms, insurance, bonding and risk allocation
• Preferred: 10+ years in this procurement area, direct water industry or EPC firm experience, and professional certifications (C.P.M., CPSM, CIPS, PMP)
