Reference and Instruction Librarian

About the role

The University of British Columbia Okanagan Library seeks a creative, service‑oriented librarian to provide reference and instructional support for faculty, students and the broader community on a full‑time, 12‑month basis.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with assigned academic departments (currently Engineering) to enhance library partnership in teaching, research and scholarship.
• Develop and deliver instructional content such as workshops, subject guides and online learning materials.
• Provide specialized reference and research services to students, staff, faculty and public patrons.
• Participate in conferences, committees and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in library or information science (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of subject liaison duties including reference, collection development and instructional design.
• Interest in information literacy, assessment and educational technologies.
• Familiarity with academic library systems used for reference and research services.

What we offer

• Annual gross salary of $89,068.18 CAD plus vacation and benefits.
