Field Liaison

About the role

This position is an integral part of the Field Education Office in the School of Social Work, acting as a liaison between current students, their field education placements, and the School.

Key responsibilities

• Act as liaison between students, field instructors and agency partners, ensuring clear communication of processes, requirements and expectations.
• Conduct site visitations and three check‑in meetings (beginning, midpoint, end) to monitor student progress and document findings.
• Provide grade recommendations and sign‑off on evaluative documents for each placement.
• Facilitate resolution of concerns related to performance, fit, supervision or learning opportunities, and advise the Field Education Coordinator.
• Maintain accurate field education documentation, including reports, feedback and agency information.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline with 1‑2 years of related experience (or equivalent education/experience).
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and ability to work respectfully with diverse perspectives.
• Strong verbal and written communication, sound judgment and ability to provide constructive feedback.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access).
• Basic database management.
• Proficiency with social media and general internet tools.
