Recovery Home Support Worker – Term Position

About the role

We are seeking a Recovery Home Support Worker to join our team in Agassiz, providing culturally safe, trauma-informed support to individuals affected by mental illness, addictions, and crisis. Working under the Recovery Home Supervisor, you will help clients with daily living activities, promote community participation, and ensure a safe residential environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide crisis support and report incidents promptly to the supervisor.
• Assist clients with daily living tasks such as shopping, cooking, cleaning, banking, and attending medical appointments.
• Maintain accurate client records and charting in the Mustimuhw database.
• Plan and lead social, recreational, and vocational activities for residents.
• Safeguard medication in accordance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act.
• Transport clients to appointments and support community engagement.
• Oversee household duties including meal preparation, laundry, and inventory management.

Required profile

• Formal education or training in social services, health care, mental health, addictions, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience working within Indigenous communities on mental health or addictions.
• Food Safe Level 1 certification and current First Aid certification.
• Mental Health First Aid, Naloxone, and Trauma-Informed training.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with reliable transportation.
