Project Manager – Construction

About the role

The Project Manager is accountable for overall control, direction, and progression of contract work, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Reporting to the Project Director, the role involves frequent site visits across the Greater Toronto Area and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review contract documents, define scope, develop detailed project plans, and assess risks.
• Procure materials and subcontractors, negotiate terms, and monitor cost variances.
• Coordinate internal resources and third‑party vendors, manage scope changes, and track performance.
• Lead stakeholder and client interactions, conduct meetings, and provide regular status reports.
• Mentor junior staff, promote a collaborative culture, and ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Civil Engineering preferred) or Construction Management degree with 5‑10 years of civil construction experience.
• Valid Ontario driver’s licence and legal eligibility to work in Canada.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles, financial and risk management, and construction contracts.
